"Why can't you planners just give me a number"
Here's the honest reason we can't hand you a budget range the moment you send an enquiry: two couples can book the exact same venue for 50 guests, and one wedding costs €20,000 while the other costs €40,000 — and both are completely reasonable outcomes. You see this board and try to make sense out of it? It's not that the industry doesn't want to be transparent; it's that a budget isn't really tied to the venue or even the guest count — it's tied to dozens of small decisions we can't know upfront, and that you may not have decided yet either. Do you want a live band, or is a DJ enough? Should the open bar run on premium labels, and does it start from the cocktail hour or only at the party? Are you happy with €3,000 of flowers, or does your taste actually sit closer to €6,000? Should a ceremony string trio be included? Should a party saxophonist? What about fireworks? Flip flops and fans? Do you want favors, or a welcome bag? None of these are wrong choices — they're just choices, and they're the ones that actually build your number, not the venue name.
So if you look at one of these real weddings and it's above what you had in mind, that doesn't mean your wedding is out of budget — it means that specific version, with those specific choices, is.
A smaller-scale version at the same venue is almost always possible once we agree on what "the day" should actually include. These numbers aren't a price tag you're expected to match; they're a starting point to help you figure out what you'd need to spend for a similar experience — and from there, we build something that fits your actual budget, not someone else's. So we have included in the analysis below room where you could save, if you want to.
Now let's dive into the analysis of each real wedding from our 2026 clients.

What These 9 Weddings Tell Us About Island Wedding Costs
A few honest patterns, having planned all of these ourselves:
Small weddings (under 40 guests) don't scale down linearly. A wedding planner fee, photographer day rate, production, and some venue minimums don't shrink just because the guest list is small — which is why an 18–20 guest wedding can still land in a meaningful budget range similar to 50 guest weddings.
If your vision is the stars and the moon, your guest count is not the issue. Of course islands have different pricing on food and alcohol but notice how the most expensive weddings had high-end additions irrelevant to the guest count.
Lesser-known islands aren't automatically cheaper. Kythira and Sifnos often have higher transport and vendor-travel costs than Paros, simply because fewer suppliers are based there. What you gain instead is exclusivity and a setting most guests will never have seen.
The difference between € and €€€€ results. You can have production at €1,000 and at 12,000. You may have flower design at €3,000 and at €14,000. From our part, it is absolutely doable. But, does your vision align with your budget?
Frequently Asked Questions
How much does a Greek island wedding cost? Based on real weddings we've planned this year, budgets ranged from roughly €20,000 for an intimate 20-guest wedding to €30,00 for a 100-guest celebration on basic services and up to €80,000 for high end results— with the island, catering style, and guest transport being the biggest cost drivers.
Which Greek island is the most affordable for a wedding? It's rarely about the island alone — as you saw, it's about the couple's vision. Assuming you aim for a simplistic design and services, then Astypalaia, Thassos and Kithira are the best value-for-money islands for destination weddings.
Is a small Greek island wedding cheaper than a large one? Not proportionally. Fixed costs like a wedding planner, photographer, and production stay similar regardless of guest count, so a small wedding can still land in a meaningful budget range per guest.
Do hidden-gem islands like Astypalaia or Sifnos cost more? Sometimes, due to fewer local vendors and added ferry/transport logistics for the ones we need to fly in and provide accommodation to — but many couples find the trade-off worth it for a setting far fewer people have seen.
